1.) Black Jeans
In love with these from Cotton Hearts. The fit is perfection, and they are even a bit distressed but not overly. They look fantastic cuffed with tennies, or left long with a pointy toe heel. Grab a pair today before they are all gone!
SHOP: Jeans, white T and denim shirt all from Cotton Hearts
2.) A reeeeealy long shirt.
You saw me wear one in July as a dress…well, now that the weather is (hopefully) turning cooler, this giant shirt will look so chic with skinnies and heels. The billowy silhouette is comfortable, effortless and sophisticated all in one.
LOVE this one from Brooke and Arrow.
It’s here. Just embrace it.
4.) Marsala everything…but especially lipstick!
The Pantone color of 2015 is Marsala, and what better time to embrace such a rich hue than the Fall. Add a pop of it to each and every outfit, starting with your lips. Susan Posnick lipstick in Milan and London are definitely the way to go.
5.) An all purpose belt.
Do you have a good belt? A good one? Not an old woven one from 1988. You need to invest in an eye-catching belt…one you can wear with jeans and booties [aka: your daily Fall uniform] as well as over a sweater dress for Date Night.
6.) Variety of coats!
Gone are the days of 1 new winter coat. Get rid of those old ones from 10 years ago (check the pockets for a folded up $5 first!!!) and replace them with some of these haute looks!
I bought this one by Cupcakes and Cashmere the day it was launched!
I’ve eyed this one from CAbi the second I saw it…waiting for Brian to give me the okay. **to order, contact Taylor Bell at email@example.com
Capes are cool! I bought a Calvin Klein one a few years ago off AMAZON!
Trench coats are an excellent transition into coat season. Grab one in fabulously rich color.
7.) Duck boots
I’m sorry. I love them and you should too.
SHOP: My faves are from Sperry
8.) Fall hat
Y’all hats are a cool, functional accessory that so many of us forget when getting dressed in the morning. They aren’t just for a bad hair day. Grab a couple to throw into your Fall uniform rotation and immediately elevate your look.
SHOP: A huge selection of hats at Nordstrom
9.) Layered necklaces
10.) Flare leg jeans–yep! They are back!
I personally am very glad to see jeans flare out again…it’s like 1996 all over again! (1996 was an excellent year–its the year Brian and I met. In keyboarding. I mean Biology…one of the two. Our memories of this don’t exactly match up. I remember us receiving the ‘fastest boy and girl typer’ awards in keyboarding, and he remembers me copying off his Biology homework…)
I love to wear my flares with a platform wedge. Anything with some height. Pair a flat with your flares, and you run the risk of looking kind of dumpy. You also want your flares to be plenty long to create an illusion your legs are so very long!
There you have it! Time to shop.
-ciao for now-
