From the desk of Lauren Palmer

Hello there!

During the quarantine while we are unable to visit the gym, pilates/yoga studio, or Soul Cycle, I want to give you a few ideas of how you can continue to exercise from the safety of your home. These are the things I’ve been doing, and honestly, I really like the variety!

1.) FREE YOGA ON AUDIBLE

  • Okay, I love yoga for the mental benefits as well as the physical ones, and this series on Audible is SOOOO neat! First of all, you don’t have to know anything about Yoga for it to make sense. Truly, even though you are just listening to the practice, the teacher explains everything you need to do with your body. It is really easy to follow. Most are typically between 20-30 minutes. Right now, there are lots to choose from plus a new one is added to the library every week.

2.) VIRTUAL TRAINING WITH MICHAEL FROM THE BLUEPRINT

  • The gym where I am a member is The Blueprint Experience located in Adriatica. Well, they are currently closed do the quarantine, so the trainers are offering virtual sessions at discounted prices. Michael and I are training twice a week, and as crazy as this sounds, it really is working! Reach out to The Blueprint Experience to learn more.

3.) GO ON A WALK, RUN, OR BIKE RIDE OUTSIDE

  • I know the weather in North Texas hasn’t really allowed a lot of outdoors time over the past few weeks, but friends, let me remind you that being outside is medicinal to you mentally and physically. If there is any HINT of a clear sky, go outside for as long as possible. My sister lives in Oregon, and it is cold and gray for a large part of the year. Every time we go visit, the second the sky clears, we head outside, because you have to take advantage while we can. Be outside. Soak up the vitamin D. Jump up and down. Just be outside!

Those are just three little tricks that we are trying over here. Do you have any other suggestions? Please leave them in the comments!
