Grounding Exercise for the entire family (borrowed from Mike, my life coach):
- TAKE 3 DEEP BREATHS
- LIST 3 THINGS YOU CAN SEE WITH YOUR EYES
- LIST 3 THINGS YOU CAN HEAR WITH YOUR EARS
- LIST 3 THINGS YOU CAN FEEL ON YOUR SKIN
- TAKE 3 FINAL DEEP BREATHS
Friends, do this several times a day…the second you begin to feel overwhelmed. Come back to God-reality, not the news’ version of reality, or your child’s, or your husband’s. Come back to His reality. Remember Matthew 6:33 in the Message translation? You can read more about this HERE.
Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, God provision…
Do the Grounding Exercise above and start again. It doesn’t matter if you start over 10 times during the day. The point is, that you recognize a breaking point, and you take matters into your own hands to find peace again. Take care of yourself mentally friends. And don’t forget to smile today.
