One of the reasons Susan Posnick Cosmetics is such a favorite of mine is because it is a simple product for REAL WOMEN with REAL LIVES. There aren’t a thousand different products to overwhelm both your makeup senses and make drawer; instead, Susan has created an efficient, clean and easy line to meet the needs of all women–especially those of us on the go. I’m serious. Who here actually has the time or desire to apply a zillion makeup products to their faces every morning?
I remember when James was born in December of 2009. I was exhausted, happy, over whelmed with love and had zero desire to get dressed (beyond gym clothes) let alone put my face on in the mornings. However, on those occasions when my makeup drawer was opened, and I would see Susan Posnick ‘s COLORFLO sitting quietly in it’s undisturbed state, it would dawn on me the dark circles under my eyes could EASILY be illuminated in a matter of moments. Susan’s products take away the excuses. It has sunscreen. It’s not messy for your counter top or fingers. And most importantly, the applicator is included with the product! You don’t need a thousand different brushes to create a beautiful look.
Before I show you the first look she created, I want to tell you a bit about Susan. First and foremost before an Artist, she is a mother. Not just to her own daughter (who mas married just a few weeks ago!!!), but every time I see her, she makes me feel as though my well being is important to her, as if I was her own. She is kind and very caring. She smart, and wants the best for those around her. At our meeting in February, we were discussing The Art of Living Beautifully, and I mentioned I don’t particularly love Twitter and I don’t ‘Tweet’ often. She responded, “Twitter is important, Lauren. Don’t forget about it.” It was a simple statement, but an important reminder for us Girl Bosses to take part in the world we now live. A reminder to be smart.
And she is an Artist. She is a spectacular makeup artist.
I adore this woman and feel so thankful for her products. Because of them, Brian comes home to a wife who looks alive and happy as opposed to a dead zombie mommy with black circles beneath her sleepy eyes, and a ketchup stain on her t-shirt…well, the stain probably remains, but the circles are gone! The term fake it till you make it is one we, as mothers, have to embrace during the survival years of young children–getting ourselves up, showered and dressed WITH MAKEUP ON is the way to do this!
For our first and most simple look, Susan used these products:
***NOTE: All of these products can fit easily inside of one of her mesh cosmetics bags!!
Begin with covering any darkness or spots on the face with the corrector side of COLORCORRECT. Blend gently with finger or The Brush. Tap the end of COLORFLO to begin the mineral flow, and apply to face in either a circular or sweeping motion. Slide sleeve up and around the brush to create a smaller brush head with firmer bristles when applying around eyes and nose. With the highlighting end of COLORCORRECT, apply brightener below and above the arch of the brow, in the center of the forehead between the brows, along the bridge of the nose, on the sides of the nose near corner of the eye, on the tip of the chin, and on the lower sides of the face between the corner of the mouth and jaw bone. Blend gently with The Brush or fingers. Again, layer COLORFLO around the face to create a flawless complexion. If mineral flow slows, tap the end of the brush until mineral is seen on the brush. Using the Bronze angled liner of COLOREYEDEFINE, make small strokes to create a line at the base of the upper eye lashes, staying as close to the lash line as possible. Trace a line of Copper shadow on top of the liner, and blend with The Brush. Tap COLORME blush on the apples of the cheeks and straight back and up toward the hairline, as though making a slight check mark. Lightly tap COLORME on the ball of the eyelid for soft color. Coat lashes with COLORCOATED mascara. Apply COLORESSENTIAL on lips.
