Hello Art of Living Beautifully readers and happy Friday to you! My name is Misti Reed, and I am the Home Editor for The Art of Living Beautifully. Once a month I will bring you my favorite, must-have home decor pieces–many from stores right here in McKinney. Each of my selections this month are simple, unique ways to update the home. Enjoy!

These beads are a stunning way to fill space on a console or side table. Drape them softly over a book or hang them around the neck of a vase for a layered, collected feel.

One of the biggest trends of 2017 is actually quite traditional! Boxwood balls are such an impactful way to not only fill space in a minimalistic way, but also bring the outdoors in. I love love love an oversized preserved boxwood in a cement urn. To die!

Linen Spray from My Favorite Room

This is my GO TO home refresher! Spray it weekly- or daily!- on your upholstery, bed linens and rugs. This is the secret ingredient I use right before having guests over! Always makes my home smell so fresh and clean!

Table Lamps from Petals and Vine

One of the quickest ways to update a room is with a new set of lamps! It’s not possible for me to pick my favorite set from Petals & Vines! But, if i have to, these alabaster table lamps with gold pulls might be the winner!

Noticing a trend? Botanicals! We’re all familiar with boring faux plants, but this year I challenge you to throw away all of that dusty old ivy on top of your cabinets, and invest in some new permanent botanicals. Lady Butterbug has a gorgeous selection – the necklace fern draping down the bottle is my absolute favorite! You can fill your bookshelves with these and it will make you feel like you’re in a secret garden.

Botanical Wall Groupings at Ambrosia

We all have walls that need filling and I love how Ambrosia offers a wall grouping for any style – from transitional to farmhouse.
