Yes, it is now November.

And it’s 86º today in McKinney, Texas.

I can’t even.

Jesus if you are reading this, we would love some cooler weather; the kind that prompts the making of homemade chili and fires in the fireplace and scarves and extra winter blankets. Amen.

November is one of my favorite months for blogging. I love the topics. I get to discuss holiday things without feeling overwhelmed by the holidays. Yet.

This newsletter is really packed with info, so I will go ahead and get started.

First-up Blue Apron.

Blue Apron Bolognese

Remember around the end of September when I wrote about my first experience with Blue Apron making Bolognese? I never wrote about my second or third attempt because it wasn’t worth an entire blog post. It didn’t work out for us as well as the Bolognese did. Their instructions on cooking rice left ours uncooked…which wasn’t that huge of a deal. I just added more water and adjusted the cooking time, but I found it surprising that the sent a recipe that wasn’t properly tested. My next delivery arrived a day late. This isn’t so good when a box of meat is sitting on your door step and you have no idea it’s there. Blue Apron graciously gave us a refund, but I took this as my cue to cancel the subscription. I don’t need additional hassle. At least I have the incredible recipe to the Bolognese pictured above.

Next on the list,

img_3062 I was contacted by about collaborating on a fashion post. eShakti was a brand I had never heard of before, but I was intrigued by their mission: every piece of clothing is custom made for that specific customer. By sending them your measurments, you are practically guaranteed excellent fit. You can also customize the garment by playing around with length, sleeve style, color etc…I selected this chambray bell-sleeved top and even incorporated it into my…

Christmas Card Style Guide collaboration with Emily McClure!

When my sweet friend Emily asked my input on Christmas Card fashion, we decided to create a style guide for her to give her customers. “Moms always have the hardest time knowing what to wear for Christmas card pictures,” she told me. I did some brainstyling and came up with some ensembles, tricks and tips to make the prep work much easier on you. Whether your neighbor stops by to snap a quick pic on your iPhone or your hire a professional, the Christmas card pic doesn’t have to make you crazy.

We don’t have an actual Style Wheel Big Deal this month, but stay tuned for all of my fall must-haves starting with fall shoes tomorrow–>this is for you Lauren Mireles! 🙂

Is anyone else ready for some new fall recipes? I’m sharing my recipe for Albondigas–the delicious Mexican meatball soup I served at The Witch’s Brunch last month.

Tasty recipes and a few fall tablescapes are definitely in store this month as we approach Thanksgiving. You will not even believe what I’m cooking this year. I’m so excited!

My verse for the month is from the Gospel of John.

I have actually set an alarm on my phone to go off every 2 hours and remind me of this verse. It was the best way I could think of to help me incorporate the Lord in my decision making all day long. Otherwise, I forget. Its not always easy to discern the voice of God, but this verse is so black and white. We hear His voice. He knows us. We follow Him.

Make this November the best one yet friends. Brian and I are kicking off the month with our 10 year anniversary and heading to Napa. Hello wine and beautiful scenery and delicious food and wine and food and wine and Michael Chiarello and Dean and Deluca and Far Niente and Robert Craig and Auberge du Soleil and VGS! The Palmers are coming and we are hungry and thirsty. 😬

-ciao for now-
