Local artist, Julia McNally, showcases her artwork in a one man art-show at Orisons Fine Art and Framing on the square in downtown McKinney, Texas.
It is probably no secret to any of you that I am a fan of local artist, Julia McNally. She is the talent who painted the abstract portrait of me wearing sunglasses displayed on the masthead of theartoflivingbeautifully.net.
If you checked out the June events calendar you will have seen Mrs. McNally has an art show happening at Orisons Art and Framing from now until July 1. A plethora of her colorful, abstract creations greet customers the moment they walk through the door at Orisons. May I encourage you to stop in for a little look-see? May I further encourage you to support this local artist and consider making one of her pieces part of your permanent collection? There are several Julia McNally originals and many giclee copies available for purchase in a variety of sizes. Trust me when I say Orisons Fine Art and Framing does an exquisite job with the giclee copies.
I stopped into Orisons myself on Saturday evening for the art show reception, and fell in love with just about everything. My favorites include a portrait named The Oldtimer, a pair of fruit still lives and a girl looking over her shoulder in a long aqua dress. See if you can pick them out below.
Award-winning painter Julia McNally works as a fine art and live event painter. Dallas based, she is available for travel to destinations worldwide. She captures the joy of ceremonies, receptions, and other events by rhythmically balancing loose yet accurate brushwork with a bold, energetic color palette. Her emergence into live wedding painting naturally transpired from her passion for figurative and urban oil painting.
Julia’s style has evolved over the years while continuing to be inspired by the scenes that surround her. Whether it is people at work or play, or light reflecting off a coffee cup at the local cafe, Julia eagerly awaits the opportunity to translate the unusually usual scene into a vibrant painting on canvas. Her well-known reflection series paintings are a representation of just that – our shared experiences in and around the city.
While she loves the process of turning a blank canvas into a captivating work of art, she also enjoys working closely with clients on commissioned pieces. She feels it is important to speak with her clients throughout the painting process to ensure the finished product is one they will cherish forever!
Collectors of Julia’s work span the US and abroad, from Los Angeles to New York, Miami to Seattle, and most recently Dubai. Julia received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with High Honors from Michigan State University.
When you find yourself on the Square this week, stop in to see Julia’s colorful, honest work. You won’t be sorry!
