Good morning McKinney!
Today I am thrilled to tell you about an upcoming, family-friendly event that benefits a McKinney NPO that holds a very special place in our hearts at TAOLB: The ManeGait Country Fair!
For those of you who don’t already know, at ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship children and adults with disabilities move beyond their boundaries through the healing power of the horse and the dedication of a professional and caring community. It was founded in 2007 by the Darling family and operates as 501(c)(3) nonprofit. ManeGait provides weekly therapeutic horsemanship programs to 150 adults and children with physical, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral disabilities, delivering more than 7,000 hours of services each year!
As a result of ManeGait programs, riders have taken first steps, spoken first words, and achieved milestones once thought impossible. The great strides celebrated in the arena translate to a better quality of life for riders and their families. ManeGait is such a blessing for friends in our community with special needs and their families.
I am thrilled to tell you ManeGait will be hosting their 3rd Annual Country Fair on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 11-4. Friends, this is an incredible event for the entire family! Modeled after old-fashioned county fairs, the event will include carnival games, contests, crafts, bounce houses, pony rides, a petting zoo, live entertainment, beer and wine garden, a food truck park and much more!
Have you ever visited ManeGait’s 14-acre property on Custer Road? It is such a beautiful piece of land and the perfect place for an event like this. Admission is $25 per carload, and cash and credit are accepted once inside the Country Fair for any food or drink purchases. All proceeds will fund ManeGait’s therapy programs for special needs riders.
On behalf of everyone at ManeGait, I want to invite all of you to attend the Country Fair on April 27. Again, admission is charged by the carload, up to 8 people…all for $25! For those interested in becoming more involved, ManeGait is still looking for sponsors, donations, volunteers, and live entertainment for the event.
