From the desk of Lauren Palmer
Well hello friends.
So today I actually have a fashion post for you, something I haven’t published in a very, very, very long time. In fact, I only decided to publish this yesterday morning when the outfit I wore to my McKinney Chamber LINKS meeting received more complements than I had heard…maybe ever. Seriously. So many of my Chamber friends loved the skirt, the combo of skirt and t-shirt, the heels, etc…and I kept thinking, “Hmmm…this might be a look that TAOLB readers need to know about!” So, today’s post was born and created yesterday afternoon. Photo cred goes to Sadie, my mom. 🙂
If I’m honest, I saw a similar look on Pinterest which prompted me to get out my old leopard pencil skirt—something that I’ve had in my closet for probably the past decade. Yes, it really is that old. That should tell you that leopard pencil skirts really are a staple. Mine is a pencil silhouette and high waisted, both flattering elements, and I’ve paired it with white button downs, chambray button downs, sweaters, blouses, and now a t-shirt. I’ve worn it with heels, tall boots, and booties. It really is a versatile piece to have in your wardrobe.
Today I paired it with a gray t-shirt, denim jacket-that I bought at Karadise here in McKinney, black heels and a crossbody. Here are a few snaps of the outfit. I’ve included shop-able links at the bottom of the post in case you are looking to do some fall shopping.
I love the Kendra Scott chain necklace that I wore to my event last month at the Kendra Scott store celebrating my September magazine. It is classy and elegant, and brings the entire look up a notch. I bought this crossbody a few weeks ago on our vacation in St. Barth’s. Y’all. It doubles as a backpack!! Gah!
