From the desk of Lauren Palmer
I feel sad when January is over because it is probably my favorite month. I love the calm after a chaotic holiday season. And I especially love the energy and momentum that comes with starting over. Goals and new habits are my jam.
If you missed anything we discussed this month, here is a quick recap:
-the enriching and mindful manner in which we live our lives.
-I announced earlier this month about an exciting new direction I’m taking The Art of Living Beautifully in 2020, and that is guiding our readers into the development and utilization of personal culture. This will be through content published on the blog (make sure you subscribe,) in our printed magazine (make sure you purchase a subscription,) and on our various social media platforms (make sure you follow TAOLB on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.) For more information on personal culture, or to learn more about the history of The Art of Living Beautifully, read our manifesto by clicking here.
*The Personal Culture Map Workshop was made available ONLY to subscribers. If you haven’t subscribed yet, be sure to and the Personal Culture Map will be emailed to you through January 31st.
Scheduling Made Easy
-This was probably one of our most popular posts of the month. I shared with you a new way of scheduling I learned at a goals workshop and it has truly changed my life. If you decide to give this method a try, definitely check out my suggestions at the end of the post to help the process go even smoother.
-Ever wonder what life would be like if you changed careers to that one in the back of your head? I absolutely love my job right now, but there are thoughts in the back of my head about other careers and opportunities I’d like to explore. This is a fun, healthy exercise that will stimulate creativity and possibly some movement. Curious what I would do if I wasn’t a magazine publisher?
Day in the Life
-And I finished the month with a Day in the Life post documenting a trip I took to Austin. There is something fascinating about peeking into someone’s life–I think this is why I personally am so obsessed with the concept of culture~way of life. Check out my day, my favorite coffee machine, my thoughts about milk (spoiler alert I think it’s disgusting,) my favorite writing utensils, where I stop in Waco etc…
Let’s get excited about February!!
