From the desk of Lauren Palmer
Last week I introduced you to Kathy Todryk, Health Coach for Optavia. We learned how this former yo-yo dieter – after witnessing her husband’s transformation through Optavia – has taken the opportunity to help others while serving the Lord.
To begin your transformation with Optavia, the first step is sitting down for a one-on-one with Kathy for a basic health assessment. The 30 minute meeting will determine which of the Optavia programs would be a good fit for what you are trying to accomplish. Kathy explains, “This assessment digs deep to discover their true WHY. Sure, they might want to lose weight, but WHY is that important to them? Once a potential client is clear themselves on WHY they are taking this step, the journey becomes much easier, much more attainable.” Daily habits, current health conditions, and any medications the client is currently taking are also discussed. Based on the information shared during the assessment, Kathy can typically determine which of their programs will be a good fit. The care and attention to every health concern and need sets Optavia apart from other companies of a similar nature. Optavia has created a pathway to success for everyone!

After a plan is determined and the order is placed, Kathy will provide you with vital information that will assist you on your journey, including research, tips, and favorite meals. Everything is reiterated the night before the program begins. Because Optavia is a lifestyle program, Kathy will help you understand and appreciate each of the 4 components of the program: Habits of Health, Community of Support, Health Coaching, and Scientifically-based nutrition.
The Habits of Health component is the core of the program, because without habit change no weight-loss program will work long-term. Optavia (with Kathy at the helm) will work to change your life, one healthy habit at a time. “Having a Health Coach to walk alongside you is a huge benefit,” Kathy told me, “It adds extra accountability and support.” Not only is Kathy there to guide you along the way, you – and all clients of Optavia – will be connected to an entire network of like-minded people. The Community of Support component provides just that – community! This journey is so much better when it is shared with others. Scientifically-based nutrition takes the guesswork out of what is good for you, your goals, and your health. The fuelings are mini-meals packed with vitamins, minerals, probiotics, and extra vitamin D – providing all the healthy nutrients your body needs while leaving out ingredients from artificial sources such as artificial colors, flavors, and sweeteners. Kathy raves, “It is truly a medical grade, scientifically proven and clinically tested meal…and they are delicious!” When all four components are working together, your end-goal is in sight!
Drinking plenty of water, getting a good night’s sleep, eating the fuelings at proper times throughout the day, and following the guide that comes with the program are all helpful in achieving success. Over the past three years, Kathy and her team have coached over 550 people to optimal health, and she is thrilled with the percentage of clients who have stuck with the program and kept their health a priority. “Essentially, Optavia is a transformation company. I – as a Health Coach – will guide you to optimal health, one healthy habit at a time. As a former yo-yo dieter, I know how difficult this journey can be. But Optavia changed all those bad habits and taught me new ones. I couldn’t be happier to share my passion and give McKinney citizens hope!”
Friends, if you struggle with unhealthy habits, low self-esteem related to health, or if you are curious about Optavia, please do not hesitate to reach out to Kathy.
