Good Morning McKinney!
Happy Happy Friday to you. Today we leave for vacation, first to my in-law’s lake house for the weekend and then on to South Padre with the kids for a week at the beach. This is a quick post of a bunch of random things going through my head this morning. On Monday we will continue with our normal posts typical of TAOLB…starting with a recap of the ManeGait Donor Dinner Brian and I attended in late Spring. Such a lovely evening! To read about last year’s dinner, click here.
Like I said above, we are heading to South Padre next week and you know what that means…
South Padre Gumbo and Salty Dogs are on the menu! We love cooking with all the fresh seafood from the Texas Coast and will definitely be making a batch of gumbo while we are there. I”m also going to be testing one of recipes Lorie is sharing in the September magazine while I’m there because it calls for fresh crab. Stay tuned to my Instastories for a sneak peek!
TAOLB has been sharing two different summer series with you over the past month. First, I’ve introduced you to Honest-1 Auto Care, McKinney’s newest auto care facility located on Virginia Parkway right next to Bahama Bucks. If you haven’t read the first two articles in the Honest-1 series, please check them out below.
I’ve also been telling you about Oil & Vinegar located at the Shops at Legacy. Owner Cheryl Kobza and her staff are excellent in helping each customer feel like a guest. They share their knowledge in oil and vinegar pairings to help make your cooking life simple and flavorful.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17
I came across this verse yesterday and found great power in it in spite of its simplicity. If you are feeling burdened, weighed down, anxious, stressed, fear, sadness or any other negative emotion that is taking its toll on you, I hope this verse will inspire you to find freedom by asking the Holy Spirit to come near.
I hope you have a wonderful (and cool!) weekend!
