Good morning friends–
I wanted to begin with saying thank you for lifting up my father in your prayers last week. His surgery was a success although we still have a long road of recovery ahead. My family and I truly appreciate all of your prayers and concern, and the outcome of his surgery is a true testimony to the power of prayer.
I’m trying something new today, and joining a Friday Favorites link up with several other bloggers in my area and sharing with you my five favorite “things” from the past week. You can see the other blogs here: Erika Narci and Andrea Here we go:
This bag! I am absolutely in love with this straw tote from Swell Caroline! I’ve carried it non-stop since they sent it to me last month, and I receive a zillion complements every time.
‘WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LIMES GRAB TEQUILA AND SALT!’
It also comes with two other fun Summery sayings: “#365 Days of Beach” and “Better Things are Coming”
This tote brings a bit of color and a bit of humor to your Summer wardrobe!
There are two things I’ve been doing a lot of lately: catching up on a pile of magazines while hanging out at the hospital, and making infusions. Well, while finally reading the June issue of Southern Living, I found this cool tap that can be added to a mason jar–which happens to be the perfect place to make infusions! What a no brainer! It was made by the same people who created the Mason Jar Shaker, and they have also published a new book entitled Infusions. Excited to get this ordered and check out all the recipes!
So I found this little ‘thingy’ when looking for fun incentives for my Stella and Dot team (now up to 5!) and I immediately had to order one for myself! I absolutely LOVE portable speaker and radio to take to the pool with us. When we are at home, we can just turn on the sound system outside. But if swimming at the gym or at a pool with no music, this is lightweight, colorful, waterproof, can hook up to your iPhone or play your favorite radio station!
Tomorrow I’m giving a cooking demonstration at Oil and Vinegar at Watters Creek at 1:00 PM.
If you are local, please stop by and see me! Oil and Vinegar is my favorite culinary gift store. I’m demonstrating the use of one of their marinades for Florentine Steak, and making a side of Panzanella and some Couscous for a delicious Summer dinner! The address is
911 Garden Park Drive
Of course my most favorite favorite has been checking in on this guy and seeing his health progress.
I felt so nervous the first time I stayed with him by myself so Sadie could take a break. Any time he needed anything I was scared I would accidently hurt him or make the wrong the decision, so I called the nurse every few minutes. But then I remembered Nurse Nancy–my favorite Little Golden Book as a child, and my natural nursing instincts kicked in! Ha!
So thankful Daddy is progressing so well, and for our Lord’s grace.
That’s all I got! Happy Friday Friends!
