I mentioned last week on my Friday Favorites that I was hosting a family Christmas Party on Saturday and would be entertaining 40 of my closest relatives. Well, the Perkins Family Christmas went off without a hitch and we had a wonderful time!
I don’t typically delve too much into my personal life on this blog–mostly because I imagine no one is particularly interested in it so I stick to more interesting topics like fashion, cooking and entertaining–however I did want to cover PFC as a way to share with my relatives many of the pictures we took that day.
If you get bored, I understand. Check back tomorrow for my Friday Favorites. 😉
So PFC occurs every year usually the 2nd weekend of December. We alternate locations: sometimes in McKinney, Richardson, Beaumont, San Antonio etc…as the majority of my family live in Texas.
I ordered these cups to use so we wouldn’t have any extra dishes.
And we used them for everything: beer, wine, hot apple cider, Mimi’s Egg Nog, coffee, water, soft drinks. It was nice to have one all purpose cup…and I have so many left over, we will probably be using them for years to come.
Because our family has grown so much, I didn’t bother cooking but instead hired Easy Slider food truck to come and serve their delicious gourmet sliders to my family. They parked in the driveway and we could order as we wished. Y’all, they were delicious! If you ever have an event you need catered, I highly recommend Easy Slider.
I had to utilize EVERY table I own to ensure everyone had a place to sit, so I created a center piece on the dining table, breakfast table and outside tables–this is why I asked you to pray for good weather on Friday because I really needed to use my outdoor dining tables. The weather held off, but I ended up moving one table under the covered patio just in case.
Even though we had the food truck, I did end up preparing 1 appetizer and 2 desserts. I made a recipe from my friend’s blog but mixed and matched one of the ingredients to make a White Cheddar, Cranberry and Pistachio Cheeseball and served it with pita chips. Big hit! Thank you Shay!
Santa Claus arrived at our house to check up on James, Caleb and all their cousins. Turns out everyone has been pretty good this year…
And here are a few extra pictures of our day together.
So that was our Saturday. I hope your season is as full of love and family as mine is.
