If you have ever met Emily McClure, you will know as well as I do how deep her soul runs. She is eager to praise, soft spoken and has a gentle demeanor that sets those around her at ease. All these qualities not only make her ideal behind a camera lens, but also a very special friend.
Although born and raised in Chicago, Emily attended Abilene Christian University on a volleyball scholarship. She studied Physical Education and Health, but had an interest in photography from a very young age, “I’ve always enjoyed photography but it grew as I did. I couldn’t afford much as a kid but loved looking at photos! After we were married for four years, my hubby got a gun for Christmas and I chose a basic Pentax film camera!”
Emily taught herself the basics of photography and later apprenticed with a friend where she not only learned how to shoot but also the business side of the lens.
Emily Megan Photography opened in 2010. She specializes in families, both small and large, as well as newborn sessions and ‘Mommy and Me’ portraits, which are my personal favorite. This year, Emily Megan Photography launched their first sub-brand, EMPCorporate: corporate studio headshots, lifestyle and personal branding sessions for business professionals. Many of her sessions are shot at her in-home studio. Those that aren’t take place in our beautiful and historic city of McKinney and around North Dallas.
SIDENOTE: Last winter, Emily photographed my Christmas Card Style Guide right here in Adriatica of McKinney.
You can learn more about Emily by visiting her website, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, or send her an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.

PS: Most recently Emily was the photographer at The Art of Living Beautifully’s re-launch party, which took place last Thursday at Sharla’s. An evening of wine, bites, style, smiles, beautiful women through and through, more than a few tears and so much fun was completely documented by Emily. Official write up and photos will be published on Wednesday. Stay tuned!
