From the kitchen of Lorie FangioFounder of A Taste of Paris

February is the month to indulge in chocolate.  Cakes, cookies and candy abound but why not make a lovely cocktail to be enjoyed as chocolate dessert?  Each glass is garnished with a cookie crumb crust and drizzles of rich chocolate ganache making this drink as pretty as it is tasty. Enjoy!

Chocolate Martini

1 part vanilla vodka

1 part Godiva chocolate liquor

1 part milk

1 part cream soda

Garnish for 6 glasses

2 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed

1 tablespoon vanilla vodka

6 tablespoons chocolate ganache

To prepare martini glasses, place the crushed cookies in a shallow plate. Wet the rim of martini glasses with vanilla vodka; press the wet rims into the cookie mixture.  Drizzle chocolate ganache into the inside of the glass in an artful pattern. Shake martini ingredients with ice and strain into prepared glass.

Chocolate Ganache

1 cup heavy cream

2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

1 teaspoon vanilla

Heat cream in a heavy bottom saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer.  Remove pan from heat, add chocolate and vanilla and stir until smooth.

TIP: If you don’t want to make chocolate ganache, you can use chocolate syrup or chocolate fudge ice cream topping to decorate the glasses.
