Buon giorno and happy Wednesday to you. This post is linked with The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday.
Today I want to show you how to dress up your white sweater a touch. I know it isn’t typical to reach for a fuzzy sweater when dressing for a fancy night on the town. Stapless, strappy and sparkly tend to be the go-to for this mom who gets more than a little excited for a night out with friends or the hubs. (In case you hadn’t noticed I like to get dressed up.)
Sweaters, on the other hand, make me think of cozy fires, staying in, reading books and working jigsaw puzzles.
Well, that sweater stereotype stops today.
To continue the Winter White theme for January, I paired our white sweater with an asymmetrical pencil skirt purchased last summer for Hoopla. When it comes to style and sophistication, I don’t think anyone can go wrong with a pencil skirt. They are edgy, serious and clean cut–somewhat of a contrast to our sweater which I see as being playful and comfortable.
I added a nude heel, soft lavender bomber jacket and a pewter envelope clutch to accessorize. Notice how clean I kept each detail: no ribbons or glitter or additional adornment. Instead, muted shades of gray and nude accent the white. Allow the color (or lack of) to be the star. Keep it simple and chic.
A Winter White monochrome is the perfect statement maker for a dressy little get-up this month. When out on the town, you will be the ultimate bright light in the city!
