Salty Dogs are kind of a tradition (like South Padre Gumbo) when we head to the Texas coast. They are simple to make, the ingredients are inexpensive, and are a fun, flavorable cocktail while sitting on the balcony watching the sun set on Laguna Madre. The type of drink and setting in which they are consumed calls for a glass that is festive and unbreakable (you know we’re barefoot at the beach!), and so I used these darling ones Coco gave me for my B-day last year. They are inscribed with our name and a Palm tree–my favorite emblem–and are disposable although I often throw them in the dishwasher and use them time and time again.
